Weekend is for the travellers and lucky are all those who have travelling plans for today. My love for travels and maps was expressed lately with a diy repurposing map to a heart, which I've made for my sister's wall gallery. But, I couldn't leave our home without a similar map composition. It's the same concept in a different version.

DIY pebble art: making a fish relic

When we visited this summer the cave of the Dragon in Kastoria, a very beautiful well-preserved and organized cave, our excellent tour guide often appealed to our imagination in order to describe and name the impressive forms of the cave. Here were the "curtains", there was the "fairy", or the "dragon", or whatever one could see with his imaginative eyes... And, I was thinking how lucky and blessed are those who work with natural materials, like stones, drift woods, clay, etc. It's pure magic to transform a lost piece of wood to a boat and a stiff stone to a beautiful creation ...

For anyone is following my posts, my love for pebbles and pebble art is known. Beach stones I have collected from the beautiful seashores of Greece and try to combine them in minimal and meaningful forms and shapes. So, for this Mother's day gift I chose to make a pebble creation. Simple, but elegant, with few materials. The things I will need:

creative ways to drink your cappuccino coffee

"For I have known them all already, known them all-
Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
I have measured out my life with coffee spoons."

I love cappuccino, as I love all kinds of coffees! But, the most I like in cappuccino is that you can drink your coffee in so many different and creative ways. And, you don't have to be an expert barrista to have a heart of steamed milk to your coffee cup - although barrista's foam heart may be undeniably perfect! All you need is your espresso machine (or moka top), a shot of espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon powder and a toothpick. You pour foam milk in the center of your coffee and then with the toothpick you stretch the edges to the desirable shape: hearts, leaves, butterflies, web, etc.

DIY Crafts - My First Wire Hanger

Kinetic art, a kinetic sculpture, a structure that balances and moves and twists; these are synonyms of a mobile. I find them all too pretty, especially those by wire that balance elegantly and twist gracefully in the air. This is my first attempt to make a mobile, so art is an improper word; kinetic experiment or attempt sounds better.

ideas to make your own heart art wall gallery

One day before Valentine's Day I saw this great idea on Houzz to make a wall art gallery with hearts. For all year heart lovers, of course. You can draw and cut hearts in different papers and sizes and frame them in small cute photo frames. I prefer the photo frames to be different too, for the shake of an eclectic preference. You can also paint hearts with any medium you find convenient, like watercolors, oil colors, acrylics, or recycle materials like aluminum foil, newspapers, wood, dried plants, etc. And, for the end this great idea of photo collage in the shape of the heart with your favourite photos with your spouse ♥!
