Happy Sunday and Happy Women's Day!!! Although this week had started with hot sunny days promising a spring full of beauty and glory, from Thursday the weather turned our days back to winter; dull and cloudy with unstoppable rain. That's OK as long as we can stay home with a cup of hot coffee in our hands and near the fireplace. Did you know that the average number of thoughts that our brain makes is 70.000 per day. I learn it this week and I was speechless. Where my rest 69.950 thoughts are hidden? At least with this weekly review I can keep a track of what I read during the week and what I think about it. Hope you enjoy this week's list as much as I did and find it useful.

☼   International Women's Day 2014: The shocking statics that show why it is still so important on independent.co.uk

This is article of independent.co.uk has statistics of the previous year, but I have little hopes that something has changed radically this year report. They are very shocking numbers about women's living conditions all over the world and I don't know how many fights are still needed in order to succeed a better life for every girl and woman on this earth. Mahatma Gandhi's words about women, still inspiring and timeless, open the United Nations' page about the history of International Women's Day:

"Woman is the companion of man, gifted with equal mental capacity...
If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man's superior...
If non-violence is the law of our being, the future is with women..." Mahatma Gandhi

☼  DIY Nail Polish Marbled Vase on placeofmytaste.com

This is one of the diy crafts you can't resist to try it. It has easy steps to follow, low cost materials and the result is simply stunning. The truth is that I always wanted to try nail polish in a diy craft, but I was hesitated because I thought that the result would be too obviously handmade and maybe a little clumsy in textures. Yet, with this technique these problems are solved. I can't wait to do it and see how the textures look from a closer view.

☼  10 Unique Nightstands on homegoods.com

I really like repurposing and upcycling old furniture and use alternatives instead of traditional goods. Lovable suitcases, stools and chairs can serve quite well their role as tables and nightstands. Pure creativity; sometimes are successful, other times less useful or practical, but surely it's always interesting to see more alternative decoration ideas. The more we see, the more we are inspired and create.

☼  21 Dangerous Blogging mistakes (and how to fix it) by Cindy King on socialmediaexaminer.com

This is a very detailed and useful article about blogging and what are the usual mistakes of bloggers. The truth is that if you take blogging seriously is a very tough and committed work that needs a lot of your time and devotion. And, no one else understands why you do it because there is no significant material award from it. Yet, there are many other intellectual and communication awards that of course are well estimated only by the recipient. The other truth is that most of the things that are refering in this articles as mistakes I've already made them; so I don't have to worry about them. I did them all! Lol!

☼  5 Tips for Writing Stellar Product Descriptions on the blog.etsy.com

One of the difficult and most time-consuming things when uploading my work on internet  is tags and descriptions. It took me a long time to learn how to tag efficiently and describe my photos and artworks in effectively the stores I upload my work (society6, redbubble, 500px, dreamstime). But, Etsy product descriptions is another big and difficult issue that I'm still trying to optimize it. That's why my Etsy store is making turtle steps. Hope you find this article as useful as I did.

That's a great article on ignant.com about very talented photographer Erik Johansson and his amazing surreal photos. You will discover the stunning possibilities photography and photoshop have as means of artistic creations.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- quizzes

Mark Vernon is a psychotherapist, writer and teacher with a PhD in philosophy and has written very interesting books, like Plato's Podcast. I came across his quiz "What's your philosophy type" in my Stuble Upon and of course, I did it immediately. It has twelve questions, some of them real clever and real funny. My recommended philosophy guru is Aristotle. What's yours?

Wish you all a recharging Sunday ☼ !!! xo xo
