Η προβλήτα Α είναι από τα πιο επισκέψιμα σημεία της Θεσσαλονίκης και η ανάπλασή της ένα απ'τα πιο φιλόδοξα σχέδια των τελευταίων χρόνων. Κομμάτια από το παλιό αυθεντικό πλακόστρωτο, ελιές σε ευθείες γραμμές, λιτές κατασκευές και ουδέτεροι τόνοι υπογραμμίζουν την αισθητική και την ισορροπία ανάμεσα στην ιστορία της πόλης και της σύγχρονης αναζήτησής της. Η απαγόρευση εισόδου των αυτοκινήτων, τα πλατιά πεζοδρόμια, οι νέες διαδρομές, τα μεγάλα γλυπτά-καθίσματα και οι άλλες λιτές κατασκευές κάνουν το μέρος ιδανικό για το κοινό. Η κίνηση είναι διαρκής και ανεμπόδιστη και τίποτα δεν διαταράσσει τον ορίζοντα και τους ήχους της θάλασσας.

Old, authentic cobblestones from the old dock, olive trees in linear forms, dense plantings, minimal constructions and neutral tones highlight the aesthetic and the balance between the historical part of the city and the contemporary reinterpretation. Dock A is one of the most visited places in Thessaloniki and its renovation during the recent years one of the most ambituous projects of Thessaloniki. 

The banning of entrance to the cars, the wide sidewalks and the new routes make the place ideal for public. Nothing disturbs the peaceful horizon and the sounds of the sea. The large seat - sculptures and the other simple shaped constructions - seats provide a place for everyone. People can walk freely; cyclists can move without impeding pedestrians; the motion is continuus and follows the urban traffic, the life of the port and the energy of the water. 

Here you can visit some important museums of Thessaloniki: 

• the Museum of Photography (Warehouse A), 

• the Cinema Museum (Warehouse A), 

• the Centre of Contemporary Art (Warehouse B1). 

And, every year major events and exhibitions take place, like the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, the Documentary Festival, the Biennale of Contemporary Art, Photobiennale, e.t.c.

At the end of the main route you can find an interesting urban sculpture. Its metallic architectural construction has bird-shaped holes, where small waterfalls of bold colors flow. This is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view! And if it's late afternoon, don't miss the beautiful sunset. The sun is actually sinks behind cranes and bridges.
